MEDITE TRIMAX in “The Glasshouse Garden” at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025

Location

Chelsea Flower Show 2025, London

At the 2025 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, The Glasshouse Garden celebrates the transformative power of second chances through horticulture. Created by award-winning designer Jo Thompson, architect Hollaway Studios, installed by Ryan Alexander Associates and project lead Nadine Charlton, the garden celebrates the work of The Glasshouse—a social enterprise supporting women nearing the end of prison sentences with horticultural training, employment, and resettlement support.

Part of the garden’s functionality and aesthetic impact was the use of MEDITE TRIMAX, a high-performance wood cladding product, chosen for its durability, rapid installation qualities, and elegant finish. The garden is set to be relocated post-show to a women’s prison in the South of England, where it will continue to serve as a restorative and practical space.

Role of MEDITE TRIMAX

In The Glasshouse Garden, MEDITE TRIMAX was used to construct a functional storage structure and backdrop, finished in a bespoke Dulux colour to seamlessly blend with the garden’s serene and organic palette. Its wood cladding effect provided a high-end architectural look that complemented the translucent pavilion and textured planting scheme.

Key Features of MEDITE TRIMAX in the Project:

Aesthetic Appeal: Its textured wood-like finish enhanced the garden’s visual coherence, providing a refined contrast to the naturalistic planting and water features.

Sustainability: As an environmentally conscious choice, MEDITE TRIMAX supported the garden’s overarching message of renewal and sustainable rehabilitation.

Durability: Designed for long-term outdoor use, its resistance to moisture, rot, and fungal decay ensures the garden will remain functional and attractive after relocation.

Speed of Installation: Fast and efficient to install—a critical requirement for temporary show builds—MEDITE TRIMAX helped meet tight timelines without compromising on quality or design.

MEDITE TRIMAX’s inclusion in The Glasshouse Garden highlights its suitability for projects where aesthetics, sustainability, and performance must go hand in hand. In a setting designed to represent hope and change, this innovative material helped create a structure that is both beautiful and built to last—a fitting legacy for a garden with a powerful social purpose.
